Mathiane acknowledged the value of earning a point away from home. While a win is always the target, he noted that a draw on the road is a positive result under the circumstances. He added that the team’s focus now shifts to their upcoming home games, where they must be more aggressive and collect maximum points.

On the mental side, Mathiane stressed the importance of keeping players motivated, especially during difficult periods. Drawing from his own experience as a player and captain, he said setbacks are a normal part of football, but maintaining belief and morale is key to improving results.

Reflecting on the match, he was pleased with the chances Gallants created but acknowledged the need to improve their finishing and convert those opportunities into goals.
“We did everything. I’m quite happy with the chances we created,” Mathiane said. “The most important thing is to convert them. At least we got one, but we need to go back to the drawing board and improve our finishing.”

As the season enters a crucial stage, with tight competition at the bottom of the table, Mathiane remains confident in his squad. He believes the team has more quality than many of their opponents, with a good mix of experienced players and promising youngsters driving the group forward.
“I have confidence in my players. There’s quality in our team,” he said. “We have experienced players and youngsters who are pushing. I’m quite happy with the team we have. We will fight until the end and get out of this position.”
